AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THIS FORUM - PLEASE READ

The Mini Cooper Forum was set up in 2016 with a view to providing a discussion and information platform for classic Mini Cooper and BMW MINI Cooper enthusiasts around the world. However discussion on anything to do with the Mini/MINI has always been welcomed.

As the forum banner says it is an independent forum with no affiliation to any car club or business. In terms of operation the forum has worked well with very few problems. However it’s fair to say that the forum has not been a success. Quite why remains something of a mystery. With this background in mind we hereby give notice that a final decision as to whether the Mini Cooper Forum continues to run or is taken down will be made on or just after 30th November 2019.

If you have ideas of how the forum might be improved to attract more discussion please feel free to either post on the forum or email admin@minicooperforum.org

Re: New Magnum Panels At NEC

There is a lot of elitism around panels particularly with M Machine and Heritage but one of their suppliers is Magnum!

Re: Bomb Site Maps Of The Blitz

Very interesting indeed.

Whizzed across to look at the Kingston upon Thames area. Seems the Luftwaffe never got anywhere near the Hawker Siddeley aircraft factory and the house I lived in in Surbiton had a bomb yards a way!

Re: Experience

I'm currently on re-assembley of a full restoration and despite having 'been there' many times before there are always those jobs that you dread and are thankful when successfully competed. Here are a few that have had my heart racing recently and many times before! 1. Fitting a new wiring loom alon...

Re: September 2017 - Discussion Point of the Month

Picking up on the excellent points made by Dave on the subject, is it that the materials used nowadays are often of a poor quality or is it the actual making of the parts that is poor in terms of tolerances, machining, moulding, etc.? Perhaps it's a mixture of both? If a part is poorly made and tha...

Re: September 2017 - Discussion Point of the Month

Chuck, there is a certain irony in what you say. With advances in technology in the 50 or so years since the Mini first saw the light of day, the quality of the parts should have got better, not worse. Who do we blame for this state of affairs? Us enthusiasts for always wanting replacement parts at ...

Turbo Pickers - Quest

Whats the general verdict on this programme? I caught up yesterday with the edition that contained the H Van resto and the Mk2 Polo S tidy up. I thought it was a refreshing change from the others, the farce wasn't evident if it was there at all and what no bromance, just plain garage banter! I could...

Re: Formula 1 and the Safety Car. A question?

I watched yesterday's Belgian GP live which I must admit didn't have too much by way of entertaining us except for wondering if Vettel would be able to catch and pass Hamilton.

Not watched a Formula 1 race for many a year, isn't just another variation on the Soap Opera!

Re: Why do cars seem to be getting bigger and bigger?

I believe it is a combination of crass stupidity and marketing. VW for example morph the Polo to the size of the original Golf and then introduce the Fox or the Up as a new small car. Quite clearly it isn't a question of safety in model evolution as the smaller versions also comply with the current ...

Re: MINIs Take Over Goodwood - Nov 3rd 2017

Only a slightly different tact. I'm not sure I understand BMW's use of the word MINI or even Nissan's use of Micra, both have morphed into giants beyond the original concept! A neighbour's son visited at the weekend in a MINI 4 wheel drive, no longer a Mini Car more the size of a series 2 Landrover ...
